NORMAN EBENSTEIN
FORMER PRESIDENT AND FOUNDER OF
CAPITAL COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES, INC.

Norman ‘Norm’ Ebenstein – CCP’s Founder And Beloved Former CEO

Jeannette and Samuel Ebenstein gave birth to Norman Ebenstein on October 23rd in 1928. The family lived in Worcester, Massachusetts and their Jewish heritage played a strong role in Norman’s upbringing. Education was an important factor for Norman, as the education feats that his offspring and their offspring were able to make were a great source of pride for him.

CCP, or Capital Commercial Properties, was started by Norm Ebenstein and he held the role of president for over 50 years. During this time, Norm was able to drive CCP to build multiple residential and commercial properties for shopping and family living. By far, the Eden Center was one of the greatest accomplishments by Norm. The Center is a Falls Church shopping district located in Virginia where many Vietnamese-Americans congregated. People years from now will still be able to enjoy the Center thanks to Norm. Norm Ebenstein was a known contributor to non-profit organizations on a national and regional scale and was even a local chapter president of B’nai B’rith. In order to further provide philanthropic support, he started the Norman Ebenstein Foundation.

Norman spent his secondary school years at Phillips Exeter and went to college at Brown University, where he played varsity baseball and graduated with an economics degree. He befriended Shirley Gorlick at Brown, who became his wife during their 65-year marriage.

Norman also went to Boston University, where he pursued and received a law degree. This achievement put him on the path to a great career in law. Norman was an avid tennis player, ranking highly and even playing well into his old age.

Tragedy struck in 2016 at Boca Raton, as Norman passed away in his home on December 20th. The loss of Norman will be looked upon with great sadness, but we will also respect and admire what he has done in his lifetime. Norman’s dedication to his family, his ability to win anyone over with his personality, and his intelligence will stay in the minds of everyone.

Surviving Norm Ebenstein is Shirley, his wife; Jaime Ruth Ebenstein, his daughter; Douglas and Robin Ebenstein, his son and daughter in law, and Lisa and Lori Ebenstein, his grandchildren.
